Winter is Most Definitely Upon Us!!
The weather heading into this winter has been a little crazy! While winter can be stunningly beautiful at times it's the last thing that most horse owners want to think about. Preparation and planning is key to a healthy, safe and enjoyable winter season for both horse and rider.
Cold weather complications come in numerous forms, but with the right knowhow the pitfalls of freezing temperatures can be diminished and may be avoided all together.

Tips For Getting Horses to Drink More Water in Winter
- If you have the option, set water temperature at 45-65 degrees F.
- Salt intake drives thirst. Always ensure horses have access to free choice loose or block form salt or, better yet, top dress 1 tablespoon of salt on top of their morning and night feed.

Exciting News!
We are excited to share that we will be adding a new doctor to our team! Dr. Natalie Barker will be joining Keswick Equine Clinic at the beginning of March.
We are looking forward to introducing her to you but for now here is a brief bio. We will put out a special welcome announcement once she is here and all settled in. Be sure to keep an eye out!
Dr. Barker graduated from Averett University with a Bachelor of Science and continued her education graduating from Auburn University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
In addition to primary care, Dr. Barker is a certified animal Chiropractor and has special interests in equine lameness and sports medicine.
